Six Foot Four
About Six Foot Four
Our Origin

Ian Lushey, Steve Carnie, Lecky Webster and James Wettenhall formed "The Six Foot Four" during a rehearsal of the Melbournaires Harmony Chorus in March, 2000. As they were all at least six foot tall, Steve suggested that they call themselves "The Six Foot Four". Later James left the quartet and Doug Moody took his place.

Competitions and Performances

In June 2001, Six Foot Four entered its first competition - The 2001 Eastern Region Competition, which was also the qualifying round for the 2001 Pan Pacific Convention in Melbourne. The quartet succeeded in qualifying for the convention and won a Bronze Medal for the Eastern Region Competition. In the convention, Six Foot Four was awarded the Novice Quartet Trophy and was ranked 5th in Australia. Since then, the quartet has achieved a score of 92% in a local A Cappella competition, performed in a 30-second TV advertisement for Sydney's Lounges and Beddings, and has even traveled all the way to New South Wales for a 90th birthday party! They are the leading male barbershop quartet in Victoria. In June 2007 they gained the bronze medal at the AAMBS Eastern Region Open Quartet Contest and in 2009 represented Victoria in the finals of the National championships.
